Puppy Pamper
Welcoming a new puppy into your home is a big (and exciting!) milestone—and we’re here to help make sure their grooming journey starts off on the right paw.
Our Puppy Pamper Package is a gentle, positive introduction to grooming for your little one. Designed especially for puppies up to six months, we recommend bring your puppy along at regular intervals for a gentle, carefully designed introduction to the process which is all about positive experiences, and setting the stage for a lifetime of stress-free grooming. We tailor the session to your puppy’s age, breed, and temperament—so no pressure, no rush, just gentle guidance. The level of grooming we do at each session increases as your dog adjusts to the process and the environment.
During your puppy’s groom, we take extra time to help your puppy feel safe, calm, and comfortable — with plenty of cuddles, reassurance, and treats along the way.
What does a puppy groom involve?
Because it’s your pup’s very first visit, we keep things calm, simple, and as stress-free as possible. A typical puppy groom may include:
A gentle brush-out to get them used to being handled
A soothing warm bath with our mild, natural puppy-safe shampoo
A soft towel and light fluff-dry with quiet dryers to avoid startling them and gentle blow dry
Nail clipping or filing
Ear cleaning
A light tidy-up around the face, feet, and hygiene areas if needed
Plenty of cuddles, treats, and breaks to keep it a positive experience
Prices start at: £30 per session, or three for £80
Here are a few tips for preparing you puppy for their first groom:
We know dogs tend to fall into two camps when it comes to grooming: they either can’t wait to jump in the bath… or they’d really prefer not to know what those nail clippers are for. And honestly? We don’t blame them.
That’s why getting your puppy comfortable with being handled early on is just as important as teaching them to sit or stay. Touching their paws, brushing their coat at home, and calmly introducing them to new sounds can make a huge difference when it’s time for their first professional groom.
It’s especially important if you’ve chosen a breed that requires regular grooming. A little preparation now can make the whole experience more enjoyable for your dog—and a whole lot easier for you down the line.
So when you’re ready, we’ll be here to welcome your pup with patience, kindness, and a gentle introduction to the world of grooming.

FAQs
-
A full groom takes approximately two hours depending on the size of the dog, the condition of the coat, the chosen style and the coat type etc. Staff will estimate the length of time needed at drop off and the owner will be sent a text to inform them at their dog is nearly ready for collection.
-
We recommend bringing your puppy for their first grooming session once they’ve had all their initial vaccinations — usually around 12–16 weeks old. Starting early helps your pup get comfortable with the sights, sounds, and sensations of grooming, making future visits stress-free and enjoyable. The first few appointments are typically a gentle “puppy intro” that includes brushing, a light trim if needed, nail clipping, and lots of positive reinforcement!

There is usually parking available right outside the Stockyard or in the surrounding streets.

We understand how much you care about your dog and want them to feel safe. Rest assured, our groomers are gentle, patient, and experienced in helping dogs feel comfortable and cared for. However, if there is a particular reason why it would be beneficial for you to stay (such as a health or behavioral condition) then by all means you will be welcome to stay with your dog during their grooming session.

We have a £15 de-matting charge due to the length of time this process adds to the groom. We will also ask customers with severely matted dogs to fill out the following concent form:
Matting Waiver
Matted coats can cause a variety of skin and health problems. Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, causing hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections.
Fleas, ticks, maggots and other parasites may be lurking in the coat causing further skin infections.
Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lay on mats. The skin underneath is usually raw and inflamed. Matter coats will not dry properly and can lead to rotting fur and skin.
Due to matting, your dog's hair may need to be shaved extremely short to the skin and may show signs of skin irritations and sores due to matting, continually wet undercoats, and dirty coats. The grooming required will be to ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible and ensure that your pet's grooming experience is as stress-free as possible.
If Matting is sever, The Fluffy Dog may determine that the kindest and most humane option is to remove the dog's coat completely. This will be a short clip, removing all of the matting. Where feasible, we work to de-mat/ brush out the dog's coat, but only when it would not cause excessive pain and suffering to attempt to do so.
There is a strong chance that your pet's skin will become irritated during the clipping process. Staff at The Fluffy Dog will use a gentle shampoo to help soothe any irritation that may occur. The matted hair rests tightly against the skin - the only way of removing matts is to use a short blade to clip between the skin and the matts. Your dog may be nicked and cut due to having to work so closely to the skin to remove the matted coat. We will be incredibly careful, but the possibility of injury does exist.
Staff at The Fluffy Dog will be happy to explain how to prevent future matting and sill be happy to recommend the best equipment for you to use.
Understanding these risks, I the customer authorize The Fluffy Dog to proceed with the de-matting process and hereby release The Fluffy Dog from any liability associated with the above-mentioned process and any/all medical problems that may be uncovered and/ or occur during the stripping and de-matting process. Should my pet need veterinary care after or during the process I agree to pay any/ all associated veterinary fees. mentioned process and any/all medical problems that may be uncovered and/ or occur during the stripping and de-matting process. Should my pet need veterinary care after or during the process I agree to pay any/ all associated veterinary fees.
